Walk in the footsteps of Rory Gallagher!
Find out more about the city where Rory lived and the Live Music Venues where his legacy lives on!
Rory Gallagher, one of Cork's most famous sons, is still celebrated on Leeside as one our greatest musical exports (although Donegal may contest this!) and his legacy lives on in a new generation of extremely talented local musicians! If you are a Gallagher fan, check out our top tips below!
- Check out Rory Gallagher Corner - see if you can find his replica guitar!

Rory Gallagher Corner, or Paul Street to the locals, is a square just off Patrick's Street (or Pana) dedicated to the late guitarist. There are a number of great restaurants nearby and on a sunny day it is great to get an ice cream and listen to one of the many buskers who set up there.
- Check out the Rory Gallagher Library - the music section is named after the great man himself and holds loads of memorabilia!
- Have a pint in Gallaghers - the pub on the street where Rory Gallagher used to live that is named after the great man!
- Check out Ziggys - this is the venue where you are guaranteed to be able to enjoy some of the best live blues music in the city!
- Swing by and have a look at the house where Rory used to jam as a teenager! You can't go in because people live there! You can download our free Blues Music Tour of Cork City Guide, though!
